Special Lecture by the Foreign Studies Course (June)　【学科講演会（6月）】

世界で活躍する人の体験に基づく話を聞き、海外で生活をすることや外国語を用いて仕事をすることを具体的にとらえ、将来設計や進路選択の一助とするための講演会です。今年度は外務省の職員をお招きし、国際社会で必要なスキルや現地（インドネシア）での貴重な体験談をお聞きしました。

This year, we invited a staff member from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who shared with us the skills required in the international community as well as valuable experiences from working in Indonesia.

Outreach Lesson at Shinkawa Elementary School (July)【新川小学校への出前授業（7月）】

授業の計画・準備・実践を通して、生徒の英語運用能力およびコミュニケーション能力の向上を図るとともに、日頃の授業で培った力を生かし、児童の習熟状況に応じた指導を行うことで、英語学習の楽しさを体感させるとともに、奉仕の精神を育成することを目的としています。

Through lesson planning and teaching, students improve their English skills and enjoy learning,while teaching each student at the right level.

English Camp (October)【イングリッシュ・キャンプ（10月）】

英語を使ったコミュニケーション能力や英語で考えアウトプットする力を養うとともに、英語指導助手や外国人留学生との交流を通して異文化理解を深めます。1年生の恒例行事です。

We aim to improve students’ communication skills in English and develop their ability to think and express themselves in English. At the same time, students deepen their understanding of other cultures through interaction with our ALTs and international exchange students. 

Language Fest (November)【ランゲージ・フェスト（11月）】

各学年で専門科目および第２外国語の授業での取り組みを発表し、学年間の交流を深めながら語学学習に対する意欲をさらに向上させる国文科の最大イベントです。

This is the largest event in the Foreign Studies Course, where students present their work in specialized subjects and second foreign language classes for each grade, deepening interaction between grades and further increasing motivation for language learning. 

Overseas Study Tour【海外研修】

 The Department of International and Cultural Studies   has  conducted overseas study tours every year. For the past two   years, students have spent about ten days in New Zealand   during  the spring break. However, this year,   we  are  taking  a  new direction.

In late January, we will visit San Francisco, California, for an eight-day program that focuses not only on language learning but also on experiencing “the best.” In addition to English training, students will have the opportunity to visit Apple Park and Stanford University, where they will meet and interact with local professionals and university students. Two days of independent research within the city is also planned.

国際文化科では毎年、海外研修を実施してきました。ここ2年間は、春休み中に10日間ほどニュージーランドへ行っていましたが、2025年度は大きく舵を切りました。語学研修だけでなく、「一流」を見ることを目的に、1月28日から8日間の日程でアメリカ合衆国・カリフォルニア州・サンフランシスコを訪れ、ピア39やゴールデン・ゲート・ブリッジなどの市内観光、カリフォルニア大学バークレー校やスタンフォード大学でのキャンパスツアー、学生との交流を行いました。また、1980年代以降、IT企業が市内に本社を設置し始めたことをきっかけに、地価や物価が高騰し、地元住民が生活しずらくなっている現状について、社会階級や年齢層など様々な観点から意識調査を行うため、3班に分かれ街頭インタビューを実施しました。現地の生の声を聞くことで新たな発見がありました。非常に有意義な研修となりました。
